About

ByLine is a desk for independent authors. Write short stories, articles, books, and journal pages. Keep them private, share them with the writers who have signed in, or publish them for everyone.

ByLine started with a group of independent authors who were tired of choosing between two bad options. The free tools were missing the features serious writing needs. The expensive tools were built for someone else's workflow and never quite fit theirs. And whichever they picked, none of them had a solid path to being published.

So they built their own. ByLine is a full solution for independent authors who just want to write and get their work out there, without stitching together a pile of apps or bending their process to fit someone else's software.

Everything here is built around the work itself: a place to draft, a library to keep it in, privacy you control, and a clear way to share or publish when a piece is ready. Your writing stays yours, and so does the decision of who reads it.

ByLine is still growing, and it grows the way it started: by authors, for authors.
